Sometimes when the user connects his Surface Pro 7 to his Surface Dock 2, this happens: Horizontal Monitor Positioning Hardware.I have tested the good printer and several of the bad printers on the same jet direct and the good printer will print correctly and the other OKIs will skip.Īppreciate any ideas on what to try next. Good Printer: Parallel I/F Bi-Direction Enableīad Printers: this item for this group is missing/not available These "bad" printers do not have a 64K setting, The "good" one has 1 line,16K,32K,64K options but the bad ones only have 1 line, 16K, 28K options.) Good Printer: Set-Up Receive Buffer Size 64Kīad Printers: Set-Up Receive Buffer Size 16K The only difference in the OKI setups for our good OKI and this refurb and other OKIs that skip are two settings: The "new" refurb printer skipped printing thru the network/jet direct/64 bit driver.īut I connected the refurb to a standalone XP 32 bit driver and it printed perfectly. Net use lpt1 \\SERVER3\WW-LABELS /USER:Administrator Here is a portion of the sample batch cmd file we use to send the print job to the OKI's: We are printing to the OKI's using a net use command mapping LPT1 to a network printer on a Windows Server 2012R2 - 64 bit driver with Windows 7 64 bit workstations and Jet directs to network the OKI's. I ordered a refurb oki this past week and the same old thing - it skips characters. We have tried Epson's and they do not skip but the users prefer the OKI and want me to make them work. Every label print run which can take 1-1.5 hours, this OKI will never skip. In switching thru the MS operating system upgrades from XP's -> Win 7 workstations - 64 bit and 2003R2 32 bit to 2012R2 64-bit servers we have noticed the OKI's starting to skip characters and throw the label printing job off a line if it skips a LF. We have about 6 Okidata Microline 320 Turbo 9 pin printers that we print bottle labels on (we are a water testing lab).
